DHH and Omarchy: open fascism disguised as open source

Omarchy is an Arch-based Linux distribution created by David Heinemeier Hansson (DHH), best known for co-founding 37 Signals and creating Basecamp and HEY.

Originally from Denmark, multimillionaire DHH immigrated to Spain and now resides in one of the most exclusive gated communities in Europe. From his eagle's nest he rages against migrants, "gypsies", and muslims, and applauds Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Tommy Robinson, Andrew Tate, and Jordan Peterson, among others.

In a matter of weeks, at the time of writing, his Omarchy Foundation has raised $18,000,000 from corporations and individuals including Basecamp, DigitalOcean, Stripe, Dell, Cloudflare, 1Password, Pagecord, Framework Computer, Dropbox, Meta, Coinbase, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Notion.

The fact that none of these financial backers have any problem with DHH's openly fascist politics and thinly veiled calls for ethnic cleansing hints at things to come: the Omarchy Foundation doesn't just support a piece of technology. It's a public gathering of minds and resources to build out a far-right ideological, identitarian movement.

Stop using their services. Stop funding their hatred.
Resist every step they take.
