No AI

A person sits in an armchair and writes in a notebook, with speech bubbles showing indefinite strokes and then a lightbulb. Nearby, a table with a laptop showing an LLM chatbot interface and a cup.

All of the content and sample code I publish was created by hand with just my wits and my Series-7 De-atomizer.

Though I have no problem with Traditional AI implementations, I strictly do not use any GenAI tools of the LLM or agentic variety for any purpose whatsoever.

I care about my craft and I abhor the many, many negative impacts of GenAI on cognitive development, on how we interact with each other, on art and science, on the climate.

Without hyperbole, I believe GenAI is absolutely detrimental to the fabric of society, and will lead to our downfall even faster than climate change will, if we let it.

I try not to be alarmist. I try so very hard.

Traditional AI refers to earlier approaches to artificial intelligence that relied on explicitly programmed rules, logic, and human-defined knowledge rather than learning from data.

These systems, including expert systems and symbolic reasoning, required programmers to manually encode decision trees, if-then rules, and domain expertise to solve specific problems.
